Friends of the library book sale...and chicken BBQ!
Wednesday, April 21, 2010
The library's annual benefit for the Children's Department has taken up a lot of our time in the last few months. It was held Saturday, April 10th at the Lebanon Country Club and earned the Children's Department $36,000! This money will go toward providing our youngest readers with new books and other materials. Check out our auction site for more details. Many thanks to the businesses and individual community members, auction committee members, board members, staff, and volunteers who all contributed to make this such a success!
Lots of things will be happening at the library in the coming months! This Saturday is the Literacy Festival! Several local agencies have partnered to bring this event to downtown Lebanon. Featured will be children's author visits and booksignings, workshops for parents on promoting literacy for their children, children's activities, storytelling, puppet shows, and much more! For a complete schedule, click here.
Also check back for more information about the annual Friends of the Library booksale coming up May 1 (the library will also be selling chicken BBQ sandwiches - don't miss it!), the Summer Reading Program for kids, teens, and adults starting in June, and more!
