About 60 people came together at the library today to celebrate White Cane Day to raise awareness of the challenges faced by visually impaired people in our community. The Susquehanna Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired presented their annual white cane award to the Lebanon Lions Club in honor of their support of programs for visually impaired people. The library's circulation director Barbara Neil spoke about her experiences using a white cane and about the many audio resources available at the library. Lebanon Mayor Trish Ward also officially declared today White Cane Day in Lebanon.
